Writing Task: My Dream job
The lesson is specially designed to enable students to identify different job and job nature.
In Form 3, there is a topic called “Making a living”. To motivate students, I chose a website as a warm up exercise (Paint the Words – Jobs). Students are asked to play the game and listen to a song about jobs (People Work) at home before the lesson. Some discussion questions were set and posted on the blog. In the lesson, a group discussion was arranged in class.
The blog used here serves as motivation and a platform for additional reading and provide students with prior knowledge for class discussion. In addition, students are asked to write a composition, “My Dream Job”
Suggested Questions to be discussed on the blog:
1. What is your dream job?
2. What are the requirements of your dream job?
3. Do you think that you are good enough to do your dream job? Why or why not?
